Keep the joy down in your heart, but
Let it out for exercise that
We who need to see it may take
Courage in these changing times.
Your friendship is a treasure which
I joy to rediscover daily
As I walk African paths with you
Or laugh at the foibles and absurdities
Life throws our way from time to time.
Blessed be the day we danced that virtual dance
And learned the joy of friendship shared in verse
Upon these stony paths we're set to cross.
